SA: Shutdown looming in Australian car industry =3

About 400 workers at Walker will meet this morning to consider the outcome of the overnighttalks.

They are expected to continue their industrial action.

Mitsubishi said last week it had already planned a rostered day off for productionstaff today and could work tomorrow regardless of whether the dispute was resolved.

But it said it would run out of parts at some stage this week.

Toyota said it could work today and tomorrow but supplies were tight.

Holden has already lost two day's of scheduled production at a cost of $40 millionand will lose at least another day today.

Ford lost one production day last week at a cost of about $12 million and was not expectedto work today.
