NSW: Conditions today on the NSW snowfields

SYDNEY, Aug 10 AAP - A chilly -3 degrees and overcast with occasional snowfalls and
gusty north-west winds.

Forecast: Blizzard conditions till Friday but fining up for the weekend.

Thredbo: About 20 cm of new snow on the mountain with plenty of fresh tracks to be
found on the upper slopes. A bit heavy going on the lower slopes but all the major trails
are groomed and Friday Flat is perfect for beginners. The Gunbarrel Express chairlift
remains closed.

Charlotte Pass: Soft, deep cover with over 30 cm of snow overnight. Tee Bar Face is
the groomers' pick of the day. Chairlift and Guthries are on standby until the wind abates.

Selwyn: Lots of powder and 10cm of new snow mean top skiing across the resort. Long
Arm and Township are good for intermediates looking for an early morning blast. All lifts
expected to open.

Perisher Blue: Fifteen centimetres of light, dry snow overnight and plenty of windblown
powder - especially around Guthega. Up to 47 lifts expected to open. Mt Perisher Triple
and Olympic will operate on demand.

Roads: Snow and ice on the road. Chains are needed from the National Park entrance
station to Thredbo.
