Pancake Day left a sour taste for one Bury St Edmunds family after their son was refused eggs when he went to buy them from the town's Tesco Express shop at Stamford Court.
The store, which along with other shops on the parade has suffered problems from badly behaved youngsters in the past, refused to sell six eggs to Jonathan Finn when he went on Tuesday evening to buy eggs for pancakes.
Instead, when he told them he was under 16, the eggs were put back on the shelf and his parents had to return later to buy them.
His mother, Penny, is angry that her son was tarred as a troublemaker and said this sent out wrong messages to young people.
