Fed: Labor to join govt in seeking clemency for Bail Nine

KIM BEAZLEY says Labor will join the federal government in seeking clemency for two
of the Bali Nine drug smugglers sentenced to death in Indonesia.

The opposition leader says his party .. like the government .. will make appeals to
the Indonesian government to spare the lives of ANDREW CHAN and MYURAN SUKUMARAN.

They were sentenced yesterday to die by firing squad.

Foreign Minister ALEXANDER DOWNER says the government will always seek clemency for
Australians facing the death penalty.
